MAPPING TEXANS' INFRASTRUCTURE RISK

How would an infrastruture failure affect you?

In recent years, Texans endured catastrophic failures of their power grid, hazardous chemical fires, persistent drought, and a crippling pandemic. But the state is also experiencing record migration and an economic boom. How will its infrastructure deal with a future of both greater demand and greater uncertainty? What could this mean for Texans?

This project helps Texans explore these questions themselves. With a suite of tools to access and visualize a proprietary database describing over 5,500 pieces of critical infrastructure, InfraRiskTX helps Texans understand their personal infrastructure risk.

This project is made possible by the generous support of Jon and Rebecca Brumley and the Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas at Austin.
